Awash-Weldia Railway

In January 2015, INPROCON Rail was commissioned with preparing a due diligence study for the Awash-Weldia Railway Project. This study included verification of the plausibility of the cost estimate and schedules, reviewing and drafting contracts, taxation issues, occupational safety concepts, etc.
The project was completed by INPROCON Rail. The detailed Due Diligence Study was delivered and verbal presentations and explanatory reports were presented by INPROCON Rail to the client on various occasions.
Project:
The Awash-Weldia project is part of the major railway investment plan implemented by the Ethiopian Railway Company (ERC). The approx. 400 km stretch of railway runs from Woldia in the north to Awash in the south, where it connects with the main line from Addis Ababa to Djibouti. The project comprises earthworks, the construction of viaducts, tunnels, railway tracks, railway stations, the depot and shop, the catenary line for power supply, the signaling station, telecommunications and the financing of these services.
