BMW Plant Expansion, Chennai

In December 2011 INPROCON was commissioned to support the plant expansion for BMW India Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai, India in terms of supervision and product management. The project also encompassed: monitoring of outstanding production work, quality control, project management and project steering for the expansion of the production building.
The project was concluded by INPROCON. The results and elaborations were made available to the client.
Project:
The aim of the project was to increase BMW production in Chennai, India from 5,300 to 11,000 cars per year. This required an expansion of the existing production facility with a second production line and an addition logistics area. The BMW plant in Chennai expanded the capacities on the production line by 8,900 m², the logistics area by 2,700 m² and the main building by 1,000 m². Further buildings and the establishment of a waste management system were also planned.
