Rohtang Road Tunnel, Manali
In May 2012 INPROCON was commissioned to take over the technical office for the Rohtang Highway Tunnel project. The services provided by INPROCON include planning coordination, cost control, deadline monitoring, coordination of the subcontractors, etc.
The project is presently in progress.
The project consists of an 8.8 km long highway tunnel with two driving lanes and a diameter of approximately 10 m. The construction site is near the city of Manali, India and traverses the Himalayas, enabling all-year access to Indiaʼs northern regions. The tunnel portals are at a height of approx. 3,000 meters above sea level. The tunnel tube passes beneath mountains whose height extends to 5,000 m. Upon completion, the Rohtang Tunnel will be the longest highway tunnel in Asia.
